Dr. Helena Yip was born and grew up in Hong Kong, but spent more than 10 years in the United States studying and working in the professional field of Broadway Musicals, Opera, independent movie acting, and chamber opera productions. Dr. Yip graduated with her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Music (Vocal Performance) from the Arizona State University in fall 2015 and a Master Degree in Music from the University of Texas (El Paso), and before her journey and success in the United States, she graduated with a Bachelor Degree and a Performance Diploma from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA), and was also awarded the LTCL and ATCL diplomas from the Trinity College London. Dr. Yip has worked as a vocal coach and voice instructor with the University of Texas (at El Paso - T.A), the El Paso Texas Community College, Opera Hong Kong, 3 Arts Musical Institute, and currently as a Master Class guest lecturer and jury examiner at Music Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Dr. Yip has just returned to Hong Kong in March 2017, and is now offering private voice and piano consultation.
